FX rates

Created by Erik Åkerlund, Modified on Tue, 2 Jun at 2:02 PM by Dag Tyllered

In this view all imported and manually added FX rates are shown.

Overview

In the Overview tab, all currencies and swap points can be displayed in a selected currency, even if they were imported as quoted against, for example, USD.

Select the currency in the drop-down list against which the market data should be quoted (select the Price Currency).

Check "Default Market Convention" if you want to show quotes in the order of the currencies list - please see Currencies.

Note: Mid rates are calculated from original imported BID and ASK prices and are the rates used in accounting.

MTD Rate (Month to date) = An average of all Mid-rates for the current month. For cross-currency rates, we calculate the cross-currency rate daily and calculate the MTD average rate.

YTD Rate (Year to date) = An average of all day rates from the first day of the Year to the current date. For cross-currency rates, we calculate the cross-currency rate daily and calculate the YTD average rate.

Adding a New rate table

To manually add or remove rates, use the "+" or "-" buttons, give the newly inserted table an appropriate name and set the date for which the rates are valid.

You can also use the Copy icon to copy rates from one day to the next.

Please observe! The date entered in the Date field is the date you want to copy to. You must update the date in both the Name and Date fields.

Market rates

In the Market rates tab, all imported original market rates are displayed.

Monthly rates for accounting purposes

When using monthly rates for accounting purposes, one must have rates on the last business day of each month, not the last day.
