Dynamic accounting rules to create the Account
Dimension rules is a sub menu to Accounting
In Dimension rules the user can set up the dynamic accounting account based on translation of bank account or for example currency.
The most common dynamic dimension rules is for bank accounts. Usually one fictive or real bank account has its own accounting account to mirror what has happened in the bank account.
System Settings:
Open System settings / accounting and check field Dynamic account format. should be {0}. If two dynamic accounts are used to build the account then type {0}{1} It is also possible to add a special sign for example - between {0}-{1} then the - will always be added between the two dynamic accounts.
Accounting/Dimension rules:
Bank Accounts:
Enter the rule/rules creating the dynamic account. E.g. Bank account, In condition expression type a condition for which accounts the rule should be applied. All accounts that StartsWith(Account), '19'). See below. In the table below all bank account name for each legal entity are translated to a accounting account. TRSEBSEK (Treasury) = 1922 etc. Don't forget to tick is dynamic for all rules creating the accounting account!Note, when a deal is entered and saved the dynamic accounts are set and shown if you click on icon "Accounting" or drill down in "Accounting View".
Other common Dimension rules:
Here you can set up all the accounting Dimensions (extensions) used in the ERP system/systems. For example if you have dimension 4 Counterparty and it is needed for all internal profit and loss accounts a dimension rule needs to be set up for which account it should be applied to and also a translation of what the different Counterparties are called in the accounting system. See example rule 4 below in this case the only used profit and loss accounts StartsWith(Account,'8') and the tag selected is counterpart. If this only should be applied to internal deals it could be added as a selection choose company type Internal.
If the company is called something else in the ERP system a translation can be done in the table below. Click on the plus sign and choose what codes that should be translated. Add the translation in the Text field, Subsidiary Finland = 1000, Subsidiary Norway = 2000 etc. Note if the counterparty have the same name in the ERP system as in Treasury systems select code "Same value" and leave text blank, the Subsidiary Finland = Subsidiary Finland in the accounting file.
If an Expression is applied StartsWith('','') it defaults '' but if [Account] is choosen no '' should be applied before and after correct set up is show in print screen below.
